Dear Madam Attorney General,

On 21 February 2024, four GxA members, including then 14-year-old Leonela Moncayo, attended a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Biodiversity to verify compliance with the ruling by the competent authorities. Five days later, an improvised explosive device exploded in the courtyard of Leonela Moncayo and her mother's house. This was clearly intended to intimidate her.

As member / sympathizer of Amnesty International, I urge you to investigate the attacks on Leonela Moncayo and her family effectively, independently, impartially and without further delay. Leonela Moncayo and the other GxA climate activists must receive unconditional protection so that they can exercise their right to freedom of expression and stand up for the protection of the environment and their rights.
