Dear Mr Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei,

I am very concerned about Pakhshan Azizi, who is imprisoned and at risk of execution. She belongs to the Kurdish minority in Iran and was sentenced to death in 2024 on charges of "armed rebellion against the state" (baghi).
Pakhshan Azizi was sentenced solely in relation to her peaceful humanitarian and human rights activities, including assisting women and children displaced by the armed group Islamic State. Even under torture, she has always denied any links with armed Kurdish groups.

As member / sympathizer of Amnesty International, I urge you to halt any plans to execute Pakhshan Azizi and to quash her conviction. Pending her release, please ensure she receives adequate healthcare and regular visits from family and lawyers. I also urge you to protect her from further torture and investigate her torture allegations. Lastly, please establish an official moratorium on executions.
